Just thought I would check in to see how you all are doing!
I have been missing in action, but please bear with me whilst I try to get back in the swing of things. I hope to have a more regular schedule up and running over the next couple of weeks and bring you some regular and great quality content.
So we are part way through the year already and some of you will already have made headway or even achieved working on your New Year’s resolutions. Sadly, some of you will have already met some obstacles along the way and in a fit of despair decided to quit on them.
If you have come across obstacles and quit… this happens to the best of us, but there is no need to give up this early in the race. You can always pick up your baton and continue on with the race.
What most people fail to realise is that whilst we set out in our minds to achieve these great goals and objectives for the year, we completely fail to consider the effect that this might have on our environment. By environment I mean your family, friends and your extended social network.
So for instance, if you set out to lose weight and inform your whole family and colleagues that this will be your main goal…. they may not be supportive of you. They might even encourage you to cheat, they may not help hold you accountable when you fall off the wagon yourself….
So all in all your environment plays a huge part in your achieving those long-awaited and coveted goals that you set yourself this year.
There are people who are used to being the old you, that will have to get accustomed to you being different. You may have been prioritising others to your own detriment, you may have been procrastinating about achieving things.
Others have grown used to the old you, so prepare yourself for the backlash or the negativity. Change polarises opinion on your life. Some will support the new you whilst others will try to deter you for fear of what you might become.
These scaremongers will highlight every possible danger or hurdle that you might face along the way.
Many will stand in the sidelines and question your goals, motives and actions. The commentators will be there to give second by second analysis of your efforts throughout the year.
Sadly, they will also be there to report and applaud your victories at the end.
The onus is on you to pursue your goals diligently and make no excuses in meeting your objectives. Where hurdles present themselves, dig deeper and reach further to counteract these.
This new change you are about to embark on will test you.
You may question why you began,
but you will be grateful for the journey once you arrive at your final destination.
The truth is your environment may not always make your dreams feasible and this is ultimately where you will need to deliver on the promises you made for yourself this year.
Surround yourself with positive people, people you can learn from
and those people who want to see you succeed.
One of the biggest keys to success is a supportive environment.
Where this is lacking a tenacious spirit always overcomes this.
So KEEP fighting and stay motivated!
Success is around the corner for you
How are your New Year’s Resolutions going so far?
Please let me know in the comments section below. I would love to hear from you all.
Until my next post…
