African Fashion Week London

Hello to one and all….

So here’s a treat for you all…

I had the fabulous opportunity to have one of my avid readers review her African Fashion Week London experience. I had every intention of going to this, but unfortunately things didn’t work out as planned.

African Fashion Week is an fashion extravaganza that takes place not only in London, but also in Nigeria, New York, Amsterdam, Barcelona and across the globe. It is a celebration of everything African and all the diverse styles and designers across the continent. The event, although similar to London Fashion Week is only held for 2 days.

African Fashion Week London was held from the 9th to the 10th of September 2016

This event showcased an plethora of fashion forward designs and pieces. Your ticket to African Fashion week included entry to the event and the opportunity to attend a designer catwalk show.

Some of the designs from this collection had a psychedelic seventies feel with the bright colours and vibrants prints especially these tailored wide leg or bell bottom trousers.

Aside from the fashion shows, there were a variety of stalls with a range of products giving you an opportunity to try out new designers and take some really one of a kind pieces home with you on the day. Our contributor definitely took advantage of this.

Here’s a few photos of the stalls she visited and the amazing designs she came across.

Special thanks to my contributor & photographer for this event, Annie.

So that’s our review of African Fashion Week London guys! An absolutely fabulous event and definitely worth attending if you get the opportunity to. It is held every year so put this in your diary for next year if you missed it. I will be putting up more catwalk footage on my Instagram so keep an eye out for those and follow me if you haven’t already 🙂

I plan on showcasing more events like these as I love being able to celebrate creative arts especially innovative designs and issues that bring African trendsetters to the forefront. So heads up guys, there are so many things in the pipe line to look forward to, so stay tuned!

I know it has certainly been a while since my last post. Life has been keeping me preoccupied and away from my blog. The more I had to deal with, the more time passed by before I came back to my blog. I’m sure you’ll all forgive me, but I am back not 100% entirely. My posts will be sporadic, but I hope to have something here and there to keep you entertained so you don’t forget about me.

Until next time…

Stay blushing!
